We live in a time in which traditional societal, and social mores have been all, but forgotten thus a more relaxed user friendly (If you will) methodology is en vogue. Today both men, and women have opted for an unconventional approach to dating, mating, and relating. For a number of reasons no one seems to mind the "Pink Elephant" in the middle of the room anymore, whatever conditions/arrangements are agreeable to those concerned then so be it
With gay, and alternative lifestyles being more mainstream, and the growing liberation of sexually empowered women there is a change with the way things are done (which is the cat, and which is the mouse....lol). Now that women occupy a larger portion of the proverbial pie both in private industry, and corporate(post feminist movement)we are witnessing a change in the dating dynamics. Educationally women are graduating from college at a higher rate than men thus; increasing their earning potential which translates into financial independence. More money, more power no longer will a woman allow a man to tell her what to do with her money and she earns more than him. Women are not as submissive as in times past a time in which roles were more defined, and accepted Women no longer need a husband to purchase a home or to live a desirable life, and therefore creates a power struggle at the top, and also a differences with level of acceptance, requirements, and tolerance women have for men now.
Since tradition is no longer the guide by which we live. Have certain changes been embraced by today's men, and women or have we evolved beyond the previously established mores to the point we have rewritten or simply removed them all together? I for one believe the answer is somewhere in the. We can certainly look back to be reminded of a simpler times when both men, and women's roles were not only defined, but accepted everything including lifestyle, dating practices, morals, and ethics. In the past a man was the sole wage earner in the house, and seemingly afford all the perks needed in order to lead a decent life, but the world traded our future for a prime interest rate that made things we wanted, affordable, and all of a sudden needed and certainly more desirable. Now I am not at all suggesting women return to the kitchen , take off their shoes, and be with child, but there is an order to life a man ask for a women's hand in marriage , a women takes the husbands last name, the man is expected to provide protect , and discipline ever notice how when you go out to dinner the man always is presented with the check (order) is there need for updating or change or should we slow things down get in touch with ourselves, and be rational with our thoughts , dreams, and desires go after them with the zest that drives us , but with understanding respect and intelligence.
